Along The Niger - Day One

So after much argy-bargy about whetehr Intrepid will let us go to Tombouctou (they won't, but Cheche will) we're pleased to finally be in our very own pinasse for a three-day journey down the Niger.

We leave late morning from Mopti, and the life along the river is a constant swirl of activity. A few select photos follow.
