Christmas Day Dancing


Alas, I'm still not used to the "digital" world and completely forgot that both my cameras can take video with sound...so the magic of this Christian celebration is rather muted.

It may have had somethign to do with the millet beer as well? ;-)

Lots of chanting and dancing, a great way to start our morning as we headed down the hill, then back up with the singing following after us off the hills.

In the space of 1km we came upon this small mud church and a mosque - in a predominantly animistic region.

And yes, that is good 'ole "Baby Jesus" on the skirt....
